This program will help you understand the basic fundamentals of operating a computer. Find out how computers work as well as what they can and cannot do. Topics include defining computer terms, exploring basic operating systems, identifying input and output devices and different types of storage, understanding units of measurement like bits and bytes, the basics of caring for your computer, identifying and describing the parts of a computer, the difference between operating systems and software applications, using a mouse correctly, and navigating a web page. Note: Each session can be taken separately or in any combination depending upon your skill level. Check the Training Schedule for dates, times, and cost. |

•Explore Windows and desktop features
•Organize files and folders
•Use right click and short-cut menus
Session Two 1.5 hrs.
•Get started with Windows Explorer
•Navigate to a web site with a URL
•Surf the Internet, enter search terms, and locate information
•Bookmark favorite web sites
•Create, copy, move, rename, and delete files and folders
•Identify ISPs (Internet Service Providers)
•Discuss purpose of Recycle Bin and its properties
