Steve Conway currently serves as the Division Director for Automotive Technologies at Gwinnett Technical College, Lawrenceville, GA. He has served 15 years as a faculty member at GTC and has more than 20 years total teaching experience. Steve has maintained a senior leadership position within GTC for about 10 years. Steve has been both the recipient of the President's Award and Teacher of the Year at Gwinnett Tech. |
| Steve oversees the largest automotive training program in the state of Georgia. It is the only one which offers students the option to take corporate training through GM, Chrysler, Nissan, and Toyota. Just last year, GwinnettTech's Chrysler program was named the national winner by the Automotive Industry Planning Council for excellence in postsecondary automotive training. | In 2005, Steve completed Certified Economic Development Training (CEDT) with Quick Start and has maintained certification through continued economic development training and conferences. |
| Steve's educational background includes an MA in Occupational Studies and a BA in English from The University of Georgia. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Since 1994, Steve has qualified as a Master Certified ASE automotive technician. |

| Steve is an advocate of public education in DeKalb County. Steve's daughter attends Montgomery Elementary in north DeKalb where both Steve and his wife are active PTA members and volunteers. In addition to Tech Knowledge, Steve avidly supports Habitat for Humanity by helping at the annual build sponsored by his church and by conducting training courses on vehicle maintenance for potential Habit House recipients every year. It is Steve's desire to help individuals understand technology through education and to facilitate equal access to computers and the Internet in quality after-school programs. |
